Choose from 25 solid colours. Traditional paint for guitars and stringed instruments.

Nitrocellulose based paint in a variety of vintage and contemporary metallic colours for the finishing and restoration of electric and bass guitars. A single-part air-drying paint, the colours have an exceptionally high opacity and a natural gloss. They are a top coat so can be polished directly, or optionally be top-coated with Clear Nitrocellulose Guitar Lacquer for either a vintage effect, or to achieve Satin or Matt finishes.

Suitable for use over dartfords Cellulose Sealer Primer. High opacity and excellent coverage. This paint is a top coat so can be polished to a high gloss. For a more vintage finish, or if a satin or matt sheen is required, use dartfords Clear Nitrocellulose Guitar Lacquer as a top coat.

COVERAGE: Aerosols provide approximately 1.2sq m of coverage each. One is usually sufficient for most guitar bodies. We recommend 2 for basses.

THINNING: For use in spray guns and HVLP kits the paint should be thinned 5-30% with our Standard Cellulose Thinners. For example, to make 1 litre of sprayable paint you would mix:

Minimum 50ml thinners to 950ml of paint

Maximum 300ml thinners to 700ml of paint

The precise ratio will depend on your particular spraying equipment and circumstances. Coverage will vary depending on how much you thin the paint. We recommend using as little thinner as possible, as the more the paint is thinned the more chance there is of drips forming.

Specifications:

400ml Aerosol Spray Can

Colours:

Aged Olympic White - 400ml aerosol
Arctic White - 400ml aerosol
British Racing Green - 400ml aerosol
Capri Orange - 400ml aerosol
Dakota Red - 400ml aerosol
Daphne Blue - 400ml aerosol
Desert Tan - 400ml aerosol
Fiesta Red - 400ml aerosol
Graffiti Yellow - 400ml aerosol
Horizon Blue - 400ml aerosol
Jet Black - 400ml aerosol
New Olympic White - 400ml aerosol
Olive Drab Green - 400ml aerosol
Seafoam Green - 400ml aerosol
Shell Pink - 400ml aerosol
Sky Blue - 400ml aerosol
Sonic Blue - 400ml aerosol
Surf Blue - 400ml aerosol
Surf Green - 400ml aerosol
Surf Orange - 400ml aerosol
Torino Red - 400ml aerosol
Tv Yellow - 400ml aerosol
Union Blue - 400ml aerosol
Union Red - 400ml aerosol
Vintage Cream - 400ml aerosol
