What type of fretwire should I choose?

Nickel silver is the most common and easiest to work with. Stainless steel lasts longer but is harder to install. Precut fretwire is ideal for quick repairs.

What is the difference between 12% and 18% nickel silver?

18% nickel silver is harder and more durable, while 12% is slightly softer and easier to install and dress.

What size fretwire do I need?

It depends on your guitar and playing style:

  • Vintage: smaller frets, traditional feel

  • Medium jumbo: most popular modern size

  • Jumbo: ideal for bending and lead playing
