The SD-1 all grown up. With the Boss SD-1W Waza Craft Custom Super Overdrive Pedal, Boss have refined the original design and spared no expense creating the most deluxe overdrive pedal possible. Firstly, all the internal circuitry has been switched to the most premium component choices available with 100% discrete circuitry preferred to op amps- no shortcuts here. This gives the tone additional purity while also making the sound more full, especially in the treble regions where the response is thicker and more resonant. The Custom modes makes slight changes but the core tone is similar. Generally more rounded and slightly beefier, there’s still a midrange bump and a drop in the bottom end, but it’s less pronounced.
