The Boston NC-510-SRT Nitrocellulose Lacquer Spray in Sunburst Red is ideal for creating traditional three-tone sunburst finishes on electric and acoustic guitars. This 500ml aerosol provides the rich red transition colour used between the yellow centre and darker outer edges of classic sunburst guitar finishes.
Nitrocellulose lacquer has been widely used on guitars since the 1950s and 1960s. Its thin finish allows the wood to resonate naturally while providing an attractive gloss when polished. Over time, nitrocellulose lacquer develops characteristic ageing effects, including checking and yellowing, giving instruments an authentic vintage appearance.
The Sunburst Red shade is particularly suited to creating the warm red transition layer of a traditional three-tone sunburst guitar finish, making it an excellent choice for guitar building, restoration and refinishing projects.

Application Instructions
Shake the can thoroughly for several minutes before use. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust and grease. Test on a small sample before applying to the instrument.
Hold the aerosol approximately 20cm from the surface and apply thin, even coats, allowing around 10 minutes between applications.
Apply in a dry, well-ventilated area at temperatures of at least 15°C. Allow sufficient curing time before handling, sanding or polishing.
After use, invert the can and spray until only propellant emerges to help prevent nozzle blockage.
Safety: Highly flammable aerosol. Use suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye protection. Follow all instructions and warnings on the product label. Keep away from heat, sparks and naked flames.
