José María Vilaplana (JMV) has been the master luthier at Alhambra for over 35 years. He began crafting guitars alongside his father at just 16 years old and went on to become one of the founding figures of Alhambra Guitars. Several of his exceptional models are sold under his own name as signature guitars, distinguished from the Alhambra brand.

A true maestro known for his patience and dedication, JMV has spent decades delving into the rich history of guitar making while also studying its modern evolution. His mission: to design the finest instruments imaginable.
